Play 4 All Boundless Playground Underway
Over June 12th, 13th and 14th, 350 volunteers helped construct the Play 4 All Boundless Playground at Soroptimist Park.
Under the direction of six supervisors, the volunteers, many of whom were CVS employees and family, unwrapped, organized and assembled hundreds of parts.
The Play 4 All Boundless Playground is one of but a handful of new concept facilities in the U.S. which surpass the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility guidelines. “That means at this park, all children regardless of ability, will be able to do more than simply access a playground… they will be able to interact with one another… and play side-by-side with their peers,” said Kimberly J. Alexander, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department.
The park is located at the corner of John and Woodward and is expected to be completed by the end of July. A formal dedication/resident’s picnic is planned for September.
