Wayne Fire Department 134' Bronto Rescue Ladder Platform Goes Into Service

Bronto Rescue Ladder PlatformEarlier this month the City of Wayne dedicated the newest addition to the Wayne Fire Department, the 134’ Bronto Rescue Ladder Platform.

City Council approved the purchase of the Bronto in 2007. It replaces the 1978 100’ Sutphen Aerial Ladder Truck, which will be sold. Said Fire Department Chief Mel Moore, "The technical advantages of this vehicle will allow the Fire Department to better serve our community with this cutting edge apparatus for many years to come."

The truck was purchased through LTM Fire Equipment of Michigan and built by E-One Manufacturing in Ocala, Florida. The attached Bronto Skylift was manufactured in Finland.The dedication ceremony was held Nov. 3, 2008.
