How We Can Save The Rouge

Maintaining the natural integrity of our river is vital to our ecosystem, the character of our communities, the quality of our lives, and the region's economy. The Rouge nourishes valuable wetlands; replenishes groundwater supplies for wells in some headwaters communities; provides crucial habitat for a variety of plants, fish, birds and other animals, including rare and threatened species. River shores are natural migration and traveling corridors for many animals; and rivers provide uniquely restorative sites for human enjoyment. It's in the interest of us all - businesses, industries, towns, parents, children, anglers and nature lovers - to maintain our river in as natural a state as possible.
